"A Step in the Right Direction"

History

Initially hired in law enforcement in 1995 and attended the Ohio Highway Patrol Academy.
Worked as a road unit and was given the opportunity to work major crimes through cooperative efforts with our City and County Detective Bureau.
Through testing and evaluation, I rose to Acting Shift Supervisor for a Department of around 35 officers.
Worked closely with Child and Family Services and rapidly developed in the areas of child abuse, neglect and sexual assaults.
Duties were to investigate a variety of crimes from minor misdemeanors, to major felonies.
Initially moved to Montana in 2001 working for the Fergus County Sheriff’s Office.
There I was given the latitude to perform investigations into narcotics and developed a close relationship with Child and Family Services as well as surrounding agencies. Again through testing and evaluation I became a Sergeant/Investigator with an emphasis on major crimes for the county and later Senior Sergeant
My time spent with investigations afforded me the opportunity to investigate crimes that overlapped Judith Basin County, Wheatland County and the surrounding area. Many of these cases uncovered clandestine narcotics conspiracies, and the manufacture and sales of Methamphetamine. Several of these cases were adopted by our U. S. Attorneys office for prosecution. The adoption of these cases afforded me the opportunity to testify in federal court as an expert witness and allowed me to assume the responsibilities of an Agent and the indictment of some of my own cases. I have also had cases adopted by our Attorney General’s Office and have worked closely with our states Division of Criminal Investigations. Having routinely worked on felony cases has given me many hours of courtroom exposure. Having my application of our state laws challenged has painted a clear picture of a realistic interpretation of our laws. I am proud to say that at least 2 major cases have been affirmed in our Montana supreme court.
I was initially hired into Wheatland County in the fall of 2006. Unable to find appropriate housing, I returned to Ohio until early spring of 2007. Upon my return I continued to aggressively approach our illegal narcotics issues and our counties difficulties with child abuse cases. Though not normally reported to the public, I have worked on most of our major crimes since my initial hire. I am a self starter, who takes the needs of our County seriously. I take pride in doing a good job and have a genuine concern for your safety! Having been the victim of crime, I understand first hand the frustration that occurs when we feel we, or our loved ones, are not cared for or justice is not served. If given the opportunity, I will see to it that all Office personnel have the same desire and tools to meet the needs of our citizens.
